PAYE (Pay As You Earn)
PAYE, or Pay As You Earn, is an income tax deducted from an employee’s salary prior to receipt, which is then remitted to the government. It is applied to the employee’s income.
It’s important for employees to be aware that they pay three types of taxes, including:
PAYE, which is an income tax based on earnings
PRSI, or Paid Related Social Insurance, which is a contribution towards social insurance, and
USC, or Universal Social Charge, which is a tax on income.”
